Your Life Experts

Question:  What do you get when you cross a life coach, a personal trainer, and a holistic nutrionist?

Answer:     Balance, Health, Spiritual Wellness and a regular poop:)

About Your Facilitators:

The Life Coach – Kathryn Gompf, CPCC

Kathryn holds a Geological Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and spent many years working in Alberta at some of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. As an Engineer, Kathryn worked in both onshore and offshore oil and gas drilling environments, managed multi-million dollar projects, and implemented new growth strategies and tools. While Engineering was something I was great at, it quickly became apparent that it was NOT her first passion or love. Engineering however was a tremendous opportunity for personal growth.

From Engineering, Kathryn leapt feet first into business and opened an upscale retail boutique. It was here that she sold her home town on a fantastic all encompassing family store. It was in this business that Kathryn earned her “homemade MBA” and lead a tremendous grassroots project that transcended marketing barriers.

Kathryn realized that following a dream and living a life of intention can influence you personally and professionally – powering you with an energy fuel you did not know existed.  She made it her personal mission to become a coach and spread the energy and wealth.

Kathryn trained with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the premier coaching organization in North America.  She is a member of the International Coaches Federation (ICF) which is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and credentialed coaches.

Kathryn balances a private coaching practice with corporate presentations and speaking series.  In her spare time, she loves to run having completed numerous half and full marathons all over Canada.  She loves exploring the outdoors with her husband and children, spending most summer weekends at the lake.  Kathryn believes in the power of good karma, is an avid reader and always has more than two books on the nightstand.  Kathryn still loves good food and beer!

The Personal Trainer – Wendy Novotny

From the time I could walk, swimming, skating and ballet were all regular activities in my week. I grew up in small town Manitoba where “workouts” were all over the place – but my favorite was the long bike ride into town to visit friends. At 15 I started attending step classes at the community hall in the next town over, with a home-made step my dad fashioned out of plywood. At 16 I earned my National Lifeguard Certificate. As soon as I got a car I got a membership at the gym “in the city” (Winnipeg) and attended religiously. I earned a Bachelor of Education at the University of Manitoba in 1999 and moved to Vancouver to teach French as a Second Language. I got my Post Baccalaureate in Second Language Learning at Simon Fraser then moved to Calgary. I completed my AFLCA fitness theory and group exercise courses, then finished my Keiser M3 training and then pursued my Pre and Post Natal Specialist through Fit4two. Finally I completed the necessary steps to earn my Personal Trainer Specialist through Can-Fit Pro. Needless to say, my passion for teaching and fitness needed to go out on a date. They did and the rest is… as they say… history.

As a busy single mom to a 19 month old and a 3 and a half year old with type 1 diabetes I juggle my life so everyone’s needs are met and there’s a bit of time to have some love sprinkled over us. In my spare time, I like to spend time with friends and read.

The Holistic Nutrionist – Natalie Anderson

A former All-Canadian and professional athlete, Natalie wishes she knew then about proper nutrition, what she knows now.  Mother of two young boys, this former teacher and college volleyball coach, has turned her attention to her passion: holistic nutrition.

“I want for my family and myself to experience the fullness of good health that we all deserve.  I am convinced that what we consume in quantity, quality and combination is the key to vibrant health from which every other aspect of our lives can flourish. We owe it to ourselves to take responsibility for our health and vitality.”
